Tanzania is Africa at its most spectacular. It is home to the endless plains of the Serengeti, the wildlife-filled Ngorongoro Crater, the snow-capped summit of Mount Kilimanjaro and the white-sand beaches of Zanzibar — all in a single country, and all within reach of our base in Arusha.
More than a quarter of Tanzania is protected as national parks, game reserves and conservation areas. That protection is why the country hosts the Great Wildebeest Migration, some of the largest elephant herds on the continent and every member of the Big Five.
Tanzania is a year-round destination. The long dry season from late June to October offers the easiest game viewing, while January to February is calving season in the southern Serengeti. The long rains of April and May bring green landscapes, fewer visitors and lower prices.
