Standing on Uhuru Peak at 5,895 m is one of the great achievements in travel. Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the tallest free-standing mountain in the world, yet it needs no technical climbing skills — just good preparation, a steady pace and the right team.
Choosing your route
- Machame Route (7 days) — scenic and popular, with a good acclimatisation profile.
- Lemosho Route (8 days) — quieter, very beautiful and one of the best for summit success.
- Marangu Route (6 days) — the only route with hut accommodation instead of tents.
Our climbing standards
- Experienced, licensed mountain guides trained in first aid
- Fair treatment of porters with proper equipment and loads
- Daily health checks with a pulse oximeter
- Quality tents, sleeping mats and hot, freshly cooked meals
- Hotel nights in Arusha or Moshi before and after the climb
Longer itineraries give your body more time to adjust to altitude, which is the single biggest factor in reaching the summit.
