A relaxed week on safari with time to explore every park on the northern circuit in depth, including two nights in the Serengeti and a visit to a Maasai village.
Welcome to Tanzania! Our driver meets you at Kilimanjaro International Airport and takes you to your hotel in Arusha. Relax after your flight and meet your guide for a short safari briefing. Overnight in Arusha.
After breakfast, drive about two hours to Tarangire National Park, famous for its giant baobabs and large elephant herds. Enjoy a full day of game viewing along the Tarangire River, with a picnic lunch in the park. Look out for lions, giraffes, zebra and over 500 bird species.
Drive to Lake Manyara National Park at the foot of the Rift Valley escarpment. Explore the groundwater forest, home to baboons and blue monkeys, then the lakeshore where flamingos and pelicans gather in season. Look for the park's tree-climbing lions in the acacias. Overnight in Karatu.
Drive through the Ngorongoro highlands, stopping at the crater viewpoint, and descend onto the endless plains of the Serengeti National Park. Game drive en route to your camp, with excellent chances of lion, cheetah and huge herds of grazers.
Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti with early morning and afternoon game drives. Your guide follows the latest sightings — big cats on the kopjes, leopards in the sausage trees along the Seronera River and hippos in the pools.
A final morning game drive in the Serengeti, then drive to the Ngorongoro highlands with an optional stop at a Maasai boma to learn about Maasai culture. Overnight near the crater.
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater at sunrise for a final game drive among rhino, lion and buffalo. After a picnic lunch, drive back to Arusha and transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home.
