The classic Tanzania holiday: a five-day northern circuit safari including the Serengeti, followed by four nights in Zanzibar.
Welcome to Tanzania! Our driver meets you at Kilimanjaro International Airport and takes you to your hotel in Arusha. Relax after your flight and meet your guide for a short safari briefing. Overnight in Arusha.
After breakfast, drive about two hours to Tarangire National Park, famous for its giant baobabs and large elephant herds. Enjoy a full day of game viewing along the Tarangire River, with a picnic lunch in the park. Look out for lions, giraffes, zebra and over 500 bird species. Overnight near Karatu.
Descend early into the Ngorongoro Crater, a vast volcanic caldera with an estimated 25,000 animals. Search for black rhino, lion prides, elephants, hyenas and the flamingos of Lake Magadi. Picnic lunch by the hippo pool, then climb out of the crater in the afternoon.
Drive through the Ngorongoro highlands, stopping at the crater viewpoint, and descend onto the endless plains of the Serengeti National Park. Game drive en route to your camp, with excellent chances of lion, cheetah and huge herds of grazers.
Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti with early morning and afternoon game drives. Your guide follows the latest sightings — big cats on the kopjes, leopards in the sausage trees along the Seronera River and hippos in the pools.
Morning game drive, then fly from a Serengeti airstrip to Zanzibar. Overnight in Stone Town.
Guided walk through Stone Town and a visit to a spice farm, then transfer to your beach hotel.
Days at leisure on the beach with optional snorkelling, diving or dhow cruises.
Relax by the Indian Ocean.
Transfer to Zanzibar airport for your flight home.
